Senior Backend Engineer

Role: Senior BackEnd Engineer
Salary: Up to £125000 per annum depending on experience
Location: UK Remote

We have a permanent position available for an innovative Senior Backend Engineer to design and implement high-performance, scalable backend solutions using Python and Go (Golang). This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong interest in Cyber Security, paying between £70000 and £125000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications. Fantastic benefits are offered including unlimited annual leave and equity in the company. To be eligible for this role, you must be a UK resident with the right to work in the UK, without the need for visa sponsorship.

The role:

• Designing and building robust backend systems with a focus on scalability and performance.
• Writing clean, maintainable, and testable code, including creating unit tests and resolving bugs.
• Developing automation frameworks and solutions in Python and Go, leveraging AWS and containerisation technologies.
• Managing and optimising database systems.
• Integrating backend solutions with cybersecurity exploit delivery (no need to understand the exploit code itself).
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including cybersecurity experts, to deliver innovative solutions.

Essential skills/experience required:

• Proficiency in Python and Go (Golang).
• Hands-on experience with AWS, containers (e.g., Docker), and backend system architecture.
• A commitment to writing high-quality code, including unit testing and code ownership.
• Strong knowledge of databases and their optimal use cases.
• A software engineering mindset, with a creative approach to problem-solving.
• Experience designing systems for scalability and efficiency at scale.

Desirable:

• An interest in or knowledge of cybersecurity (e.g., OSCP certification or personal projects).
• Familiarity with offensive security concepts (although they can train you on specifics).
• Experience in building backend systems for large-scale environments.
