Senior Technical Engineer Permanent Full-Time

Salary - Circa £47,000 DOE

Location - In Office, Stevenage or London

We are supporting a leading creative agency that specialises in visual merchandising, retail displays, and experiential design. Renowned for its innovative solutions, the agency transforms retail spaces to captivate audiences and enhance brand presence.

Offering bespoke window displays, immersive environments, and custom 3D installations, the agency works closely with clients to deliver designs that reflect their brand identity while exceeding expectations. Serving industries such as fashion, luxury, retail, and events, it is dedicated to creating impactful and memorable experiences.

With continued success, the agency is now looking to expand its design team and is seeking a motivated Senior Technical Designer with relevant industry experience and strong skills in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities, but are not limited to

• Create 3D technical production drawings using SolidWorks for retail environments, window displays, pop-ups, and stand designs
• Collaborate closely with the Head of Manufacturing and global production teams
• Work across a diverse range of clients and environments
• Produce comprehensive SolidWorks technical drawings, including Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Compile detailed production packs for client approval and handover to the production team
• Participate in project meetings, including initial briefings with Project Managers and Production Managers
• Take ownership of assigned projects, working either independently or as part of a team
• Assist in the creation of installation guidelines
• Communicate directly with suppliers or structural engineers as needed

Experiences required

• Proficient in 3D modelling using SolidWorks or similar CAD software, such as Inventor, Solid Edge, Fusion 360, Creo, or Onshape
• Relevant industry experience in creating retail environments that enhance brand identity, including window displays, exhibition stands, set and stage designs, events, POS, or film/TV sets
• Strong technical expertise in producing detailed technical drawings in CAD for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA)
• Experience in designing for joinery, metalwork, acrylic, lighting, or print applications
