Join our team at the School of Engineering - Mechanical and Electronics at our College. We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering to deliver high-quality education and contribute to the development of our engineering programmes. This role is crucial in providing learners with the skills and knowledge required for the engineering industry, preparing them for careers, apprenticeships, and higher education.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Teach on a range of programmes in Electrical/Electronic Engineering including EAL/BTEC Foundation, Diplomas, Extended Diplomas, and Higher National Certificates and Diplomas.
  • Assist in the planning and development of new courses within the Engineering area.
  • Participate in open evenings and recruitment activities to provide accurate information and guidance to potential students.
  • Carry out student inductions and contribute to the design of induction programmes.
  • Design and deliver engaging curriculum content across levels 1 to 5 HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Prepare and assess schemes of work, lesson plans, and resource materials for teaching programmes.
  • Integrate the delivery and assessment of maths, English, and Functional Skills into the curriculum where appropriate.
  • Set and review academic and pastoral targets to ensure students perform to their best abilities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Proven teaching experience in the relevant subject areas.
  • Ability to develop and improve programmes of study related to Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills to effectively manage classroom and practical instruction.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development in both subject expertise and teaching methods.
  • Must be proactive in keeping up-to-date with developments in the field and in the practices of teaching and learning.
