Job Description
We’re seeking an experienced Process Improvement Engineer to lead the charge in optimising manufacturing processes and boosting efficiency across our sheet metal operations. With a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, you’ll bring the expertise needed to make a tangible impact. Duties
- Conduct in-depth analyses of current manufacturing workflows to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead initiatives to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve productivity.
- Implement and sustain lean manufacturing methodologies, such as Six Sigma, across the facility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and introduce best practices in production.
- Optimise material flow, equipment utilisation, and production layouts.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by ensuring efficient and scalable production processes.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of improvement projects.
- Act as a change agent, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Required knowledge, skills or experience
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing, or a related role within a sheet metal or fabrication environment.
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and process mapping tools.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD/CAM software and MS Office applications.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead and influence at all levels.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to identifying and implementing solutions.
- A commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
Additional Information
Location: Chilton, Ferryhill
Hours of work:
- Monday to Thursday 8.00 - 5.00
- Friday 8.00 - 12.30
Rates of pay:
- Salary range £35,000 - £40,000
