IFRS17 Technical Accountant

We are seeking an IFRS 17 Technical Accountant to join our public sector client. We are seeking an IFRS 17 Technical Accounting Expert to provide specialised advice and support in the implementation and ongoing management of IFRS 17 standards.
Your new role
As an IFRS 17 Technical Accounting Expert, you will play a critical role in advising on and implementing IFRS 17 standards. Your expertise will be essential in developing accounting models, preparing transition accounts, and ensuring robust processes and controls. You will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure successful integration and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide IFRS 17 technical accounting advice and guidance.
• Offer practical experience in IFRS 17 implementation.
• Build and develop Excel models for accounting and modelling calculations.
• Design and support new processes, controls, and Working Day Timetables.
• Design, implement, and test future state systems and solutions.
• Support the wider FRC Programme.
• Build and develop Excel spreadsheets for accounting and modelling calculations to identify data gaps, validate system outputs, and meet Programme requirements.
• Support the transition execution approach and plan, including opening balances and comparative financial statements.
• Assist with audit engagement requirements and respond to queries.
• Implement FRC-related IT solutions, including the General Ledger, IFRS 17 Calculation Engine, and Sub-Ledgers.
• Support the Finance Function in testing activities and resolve testing issues promptly.
• Develop and implement Accounting Rules, Chart of Accounts, ledger posting, and IFRS 17 disclosures.
• Analyse data inputs/outputs to/from the Calculation Engine and General Ledger, ensuring outputs meet reporting requirements and recommending potential changes.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including the FRC Delivery Partner, auditors, and other internal and external stakeholders.
