Purpose

We are looking for a Human Resources Assistant to support our HR department. You will function as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees.

Administrative duties including producing employee correspondence, maintaining personnel records, managing HR documentation (e.g., employment records and onboarding guides) and updating internal databases. Our ideal candidate will have experience with HR procedures and can juggle various administrative tasks in a timely manner.

You should be able to ensure our HR department supports our employees while conforming to employment law.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise and maintain personnel records
  • Update internal databases (e.g. record sick or family leave)
  • Prepare HR documents including letters, employment contracts and new starter packs
  • Arranging inductions and coordinating onboarding process
  • Supporting the completion of leaver processes
  • Compile evidence packs and arrange investigation/disciplinary meetings, attending as notetaker.
  • Monitor attendance and support absence management
  • Revise company policies where required
  • Create weekly and monthly reports and presentations on HR metrics (e.g. absence rates and employee turnover)
  • Answer day to day employees queries about HR-related issues
  • Assist payroll department by providing relevant employee information (e.g. leaves of absence, sick days, and work schedules)
  • Participate in HR projects (e.g. help organise a job fair event)

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Proven work experience as an HR Administrator/HR Assistant
  • Computer literacy (MS Office applications, in particular)
  • Thorough knowledge of employment law
  • CIPD Level 3 in Human Resources or similar experience

Personal Attributes

  • Excellent organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise important projects
  • Strong phone, email and in-person communication skills
  • Will follow established processes whilst supporting with the continuous improvement of these
  • Maintain the professional reputation of the HR department and effectively handle confidential / sensitive data

  • Salary up to £28,000 DOE
  • 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm)
