HGV Class 1 Day Driver

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Sheffield area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.

Hours: Day shifts across Monday to Sunday, start times between 2am to 6am (10.5-hour shifts on average).

Pay Rates (2 payment options):

• 13.60£13.60 per hour PAYE.
• £15.24 per hour Rolled Up pay.
• £26.20 night out allowance if tramping.

Location: Sheffield, S9.

Job Type: Ongoing with an opportunity for permanent.

The role:

• Shifts run across Monday to Sunday, with start times between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM.
• Palletised goods deliveries using mostly curtainsider vehicles, with occasional box or fridge work.
• Distance work with up to 5 drops per shift, delivering to a range of customers and clients.
• Forklift-assisted (fork on/fork off) deliveries and collections, with some self-tip sites.
• Occasional nights out for those who prefer longer runs - routes can be tailored to suit.

Requirements:

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• 1 year experience preferred but new passes will be considered as assessments are required.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Successful completion of paid assessment and a 5-hour induction (payment made after your first completed shift).
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A safety-first mindset.
