The Role
As a Category Buyer, you will play a crucial role in the Supply Chain team, focusing on ensuring cost-effective procurement, strong supplier relationships, and alignment with business values. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Procuring goods and services using benchmarking and best practice tools to ensure value for money.

  • Processing purchase requisitions, issuing RFQs, raising and expediting purchase orders, and updating stakeholders on delivery timelines.

  • Building and maintaining productive relationships with suppliers to meet business needs.

  • Managing procurement administration tasks such as accurate data entry, resolving invoice queries, and approving invoices.

  • Conducting supplier and market research to identify opportunities for business improvements.

  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment.

  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and negotiating improved terms with suppliers.

  • Responding efficiently to enquiries in a fast-paced environment.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (flexibility available within office hours of 7:00 am – 7:00 pm).

Who You Are
We are seeking an individual with the following skills and experience:

  • Commercial awareness with proven experience in purchasing and negotiation.

  • Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and suppliers.

  • CIPS Level 4 qualification (desirable) or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

  • Experience reviewing, negotiating, and implementing contracts.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and make informed decisions.

  • Eagerness to learn and support the wider team.

  • Excellent organisational skills with great attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritise workload effectively and meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills.

  • Adaptability to thrive in a growing, fast-paced business environment.
