Multi-Skilled Machine Operative

Location: Brighouse
Salary: £37,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time

• Rotating Shift Pattern: Days, afternoons, and nights (Monday – Friday, weekends off!)

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operating and maintaining key machinery, responding to breakdowns promptly
• Ensuring production targets are met efficiently
• Performing preventative maintenance to keep equipment safe and operational
• Conducting fault finding on PLCs, three-phase electrics, and CNC/Schirmer machinery
• Installing new equipment and managing project-based work
• Minimising downtime while keeping stakeholders informed
• Promoting continuous improvement by reviewing systems, machinery, and processes
• Keeping accurate maintenance records and ensuring safety protocols are followed

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Skills:

• City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic machinery
• Experience with CNC/Schirmer machinery (advantageous)
• Domestic and commercial wiring experience (preferred)
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills

Technical Abilities:

• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings
• Competence with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
• Welding and fabrication experience (preferred)

Additional Requirements:

• At least 3 years of maintenance experience with an electrical bias
• Driving licence and ability to reliably commute or relocate to Brighouse
• Flexibility to work on-call out of hours
