Join our GBS Commercial Team as a Commercial Partner, where you will play a pivotal role in providing commercial support across our operations in the UK & Europe region. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in commercial law, particularly in drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts. You will act as a key point of contact for commercial matters and collaborate with the wider team.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide commercial support and guidance on bidding, contractual, and other commercial matters.
- Draft and negotiate a wide range of contracts and legal documents including teaming agreements, confidentiality agreements, tenders, proposals, and customer contract terms and conditions.
- Support internal and external contacts on commercial issues that may arise post-contract award.
- Perform the Commercial Partner role in line with internal governance and delegations.
- Support the preparation of bids from a commercial perspective, including the generation of proposals, identification of commercial risks, and review of terms and conditions.
- Draft and negotiate a variety of contracts in accordance with the Contract Principles and delegation matrix.
- Provide advice and guidance on commercial issues that may arise post-contract signature such as disputes, payment issues, and contract completion.
- Support the wider Commercial Team on commercial projects and implement new commercial working practices to optimise productivity.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Law Degree qualified or equivalent experience, e.g., experience in MoD contracts.
- Demonstrable understanding and working knowledge of different contractual agreements (contracts, confidentiality agreements, MOUs, teaming agreements, export control agreements, etc.), key contractual terms and conditions (DEFCONS, etc.), liabilities, and pricing arrangements.
- Ability to understand the implications of contractual clauses relating to IPR, ITAR, government transparency requirements, and security.
- Highly numerate with proficiency in MS Office tools and similar IT systems.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Self-motivated, well-organised, and methodical in approach to work.
- Flexible, adaptable, and enthusiastic about contributing to the team and business growth.
- Ability to work independently as well as integrate within a team.
