My client is a prestigious and ever-expanding national law firm known for its outstanding staff retention, robust support network and commitment to delivering high-quality legal services. As the firm continues to grow, this is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team based in Walsall.

My client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Litigation Legal Assistant to support Fee Earners in delivering exceptional legal services. As the successful candidate, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of litigation matters by providing efficient and client-focused support.

The Role

  • Diary Management:
    • Maintain Fee Earner’s diary by scheduling meetings and appointments
    • Coordinate reminders and follow-ups to support case progression
  • Client Interaction:
    • Deal with routine client correspondence and queries in a professional and timely manner
    • Attend to clients both in person and on the telephone, ensuring a high standard of client care is consistently delivered
  • File Management:
    • Open and close client files in accordance with the firm’s procedures
    • Create and maintain accurate client records on the firm’s database, ensuring compliance with Lexcel and internal requirements
    • Maintain hard copy client files, including copying, storage and retrieval of information
  • Document Preparation:
    • Assist Fee Earners in preparing client correspondence, legal documents and enclosures for mailing
    • Ensure client bills and related financial documentation are accurately prepared and delivered promptly
  • Financial Administration:
    • Request payments, record client account receipts, and manage financial records in line with the firm’s procedures
  • Searches and Reports:
    • Arrange searches, compile reports, and gather additional information as requested by the Fee Earner to support case preparation and progression
  • Confidentiality:
    • Ensure the confidentiality of all client and firm information, adhering to professional, legal and firm-specific standards

You

  • Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary, preferably in litigation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal practice management systems
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • A professional and client-focused demeanour with the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
