Every day, some 2,000 police officers do an extremely challenging and demanding job for Met Command and Control (MetCC). We are therefore creating a new team to support our employees as they strive to give London the best possible service. Do you have the compassion and drive to help shape the MetCC people strategy and support a critical workforce? If so, you could be our Welfare Support Team Supervisor.
In this key role, you will lead a specialist team that will promote and support staff welfare for Met Command & Control. MetCC provides London with its police response service, handling some 13,000 emergency and non-emergency phone calls and 12,000 interactions via our digital platforms 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It’s a fast-moving environment, where every day is different; and with a workforce of almost 2,000 people split between three sites in London, MetCC is the largest police Command & Control centre in the UK.
Your main task will be to improve the support offered to our employees and to enhance the way we recognise and reward our teams. Day to day, you will work to improve staff wellbeing, reduce absenteeism and assist staff with the Attendance Management Policy. You’ll also have the opportunity to help design and deliver people strategies while supervising your team. But ultimately, it’s about ensuring wellbeing services are offered across MetCC.
To join us at this level, you’ll need relevant experience - but that’s not all. We’re looking for a professional who’s compassionate and caring above all. It’s important you can co-ordinate welfare support services and help first line managers with their staff’s welfare needs. The goal? To create a culture of inclusivity and confidence throughout Met Command & Control.
In return for your skills and effort, we can offer excellent career development, a highly rewarding role and a competitive salary, which includes an additional 12.5% Shift Disturbance Allowance and enhanced rates for working weekends (approximately one per month).
