1:1 Teaching Assistant

Milk Education are working in partnership with a primary school in Wallsend who are keen to recruit a 1-1 Teaching Assistant that is committed to supporting and nurturing a Year 2 pupil with ASD and challenging behaviour.

This full time, long-term role will be full time from 8.30am to 3.30pm. Your role will be to help with integrating the pupil into a lesson based environment. This is a safe and encouraging environment where the pupils are nurtured and supported to reach their full potential though a range of highly engaging lessons and activities.

The role involves working on a 1-1  basis to support the pupils learning and managing behaviour.

The successful 1-1 Teaching Assistant should:

• Be resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations
• Have a caring and compassionate approach
• Have a sound knowledge of safeguarding guidelines
• Understand the delicate nature of working with pupils with behavioural difficulties
• Have the drive to consistently engage pupils with creative activities
• Be able to provide evidence of successful experiences from working with KS1/KS2 pupils with additional learning needs
