The role The Data Developer will play a key role in transforming raw data into meaningful insights for the organisation. This involves designing, building, and maintaining data visualisations and reports that drive informed decision?-?making. The role requires strong SQL skills and proficiency in data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Key Outputs - Design, develop, and maintain dynamic data visualisations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent platforms.
- Collaborate with business users to understand requirements and deliver customized reports.
- Optimize existing dashboards for better performance and usability.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyse data from various sources.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of all delivered data products.
- Support ad hoc data reporting and analyses based on stakeholder needs.
- Work closely with cross?-?functional teams, including software developers and business stakeholders, to align on objectives and solutions.
- Stay informed on the latest trends and best practices in data visualisation and reporting.
- Other ad?-?hoc duties as and when required by the business.

The person We are looking for a versatile Data Developer to join our existing Data team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining insightful and actionable data visualisations and reports. They should have strong SQL skills and experience with business intelligence tools, such as Tableau or Power BI, with a preference for candidates familiar with Tableau. This role combines technical expertise with a focus on delivering value through effective data solutions.
Skills and knowledge Essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server with experience writing complex queries.
- Hands?-?on experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of data visualisation principles and techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem?-?solving skills.
- Strong communication skills to explain data insights to technical and non?-?technical audiences.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Organized, detail?-?oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Desirable
- Experience with Tableau (Desktop, Server, or Prep) is an advantage.
- Familiarity with ETL tools and processes.
- Knowledge of scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
Qualifications General education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a data?-?focused role.
