LSA required for an Autism Primary SEN School - Watford, Hertfordshire - January 2025 - £90- 100 per day - Full time to permanent role

An Autism specialist SEN school in Watford, Hertfordshire is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their team in January 2025.

The school is a large Autism specialist SEN school based in Watford, Hertfordshire, with a total of 56 pupils aged between 5-16 years old. The school is well-established, with an exceptional leadership team who are dedicated to providing high-quality education and support for their students. The school is committed to providing a safe and nurturing learning environment for their pupils, and has an excellent track record of supporting children with Autism.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the educational, social and emotional needs of students with Autism in the school. The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with Autism
  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of lessons
  • Developing individualised learning plans in collaboration with teaching staff
  • Helping students to develop social and emotional skills
  • Providing a safe and supportive learning environment for students
  • Collaborating with other professionals to provide a holistic approach to student support

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum of Level 2 qualification in a relevant field (e.g. education, psychology, health care)
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children or young people with Autism
  • ]Knowledge of Autism and an understanding of the challenges faced by children and young people with the condition
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient and empathetic approach to working with children and young people
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

The successful candidate will receive ongoing training and support to develop their skills and knowledge in working with children and young people with Autism.
