Automation Engineer

Title: Automation Engineer
Role: Special purpose machinery
Location: Bedford
Platform Recruitment has partnered with a manufacturer that design and develop electro-mechanical machinery across the full development cycle - concept through to production. They’re looking for a Automation Engineer who will be capable of delivering highly robust and thoroughly tested solutions as well as leading development on new product development projects.
The Role:
+ Design electrical circuits and develop PLC/HMI software
+ Conduct design reviews and prepare specifications
+ Oversee installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
+ Collaborate to resolve engineering and manufacturing issues
+ Maintain technical documentation, including FAT records
+ Provide on-site support with occasional international travel

Requirements:
+ Special purpose machinery/capital equipment industry experience
+ Design electrical control systems
+ Siemens/AB PLC programming experience
+ Machine commissioning and remote programming support
+ Knowledge of safety standards and risk assessments
