School Chef

Job Title: Chef (Must be able to drive)
Location: Based in Bournemouth & Poole
Working Days: Monday to Friday
Shifts & Hours: 9am - 3pm (30 hours per week)
Working Weeks: 39 weeks per year (term time plus inset days)
Hourly Rate: £12.50 - £13.50 per hour

Our client, primary schools based in Bournemouth & Poole are looking for a confident school chef to work in their kitchens. As the new school chef, you will be responsible for cooking meals for the busy lunch and responsible for the smooth running of the lunch service. Working days for this role are Monday - Friday and hours will be 9am to 3pm

What will you be doing?

As a Chef, you'll be integral to delivering nutritious, tasty meals for students. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting the onsite Chef Manager with preparing and cooking meals for both Jewell and Oceans Academy.
• Packing meals into the delivery van, driving to site, serving meals at the primary school, and then returning to the Academy.
• Using fresh, seasonal ingredients to prepare meals for 200+ students.
• Providing counter service and some till work as needed.
• Ensuring the kitchen and restaurant areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards.

What we're looking for:

• A skilled Chef with a passion for creating fresh, delicious meals.
• Must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle for daily travel between schools.
• Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment, ideally within schools or catering.
• A positive, team-oriented individual who is committed to providing excellent service.
• Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen.
