Reed is looking for a Learning Support Assistant who has specialised in therapy/mental health support to work in a well-established college in North-West London.

Job Title: Specialised Learning Support Assistant
Location: Harrow, London
Hourly Rate: £18
Contract: Temporary ongoing, full-time

Role Overview: The College we work with are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant who has knowledge or experience supporting individuals with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualised support to an SEN student, focusing on their unique learning needs.
• Develop and implement tailored learning strategies to help students overcome challenges.
• Assist students with their academic work, including homework, projects, and exam preparation.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
• Encourage and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
• Address any behavioural issues with patience and understanding.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and any interventions used.

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience working with teenagers or young adults with SEN.
• Experience working in an educational setting
• A care background in therapy or mental health support
• An individual with both resilience and empathy
