Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their IT team. This role provides an exciting opportunity to manage and enhance their IT infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on VMware, Office 365, Azure, Active Directory, and support for network and security systems. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of the organization’s IT services.

Responsibilities
  • Managing, maintaining, and optimising a highly available VMware environment, including updates, patching, and performance monitoring.
  • Delivering 3rd-line support for complex technical issues escalated from the service desk.
  • Configuring, deploying, and administering Office 365 services such as Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Overseeing and managing Azure cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, resource groups, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Administering Active Directory, including group policies, DNS, and DHCP, as well as supporting hybrid integrations with Azure AD.
  • Providing support and troubleshooting for network devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Configuring and managing basic routing, VPNs, and connectivity solutions.
  • Maintaining IT security practices, including managing firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and endpoint protection.
  • Collaborating with the IT team to implement new technologies, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Ensuring backup and disaster recovery systems are operational and regularly tested.
  • Leading infrastructure-related projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
Key Skills:
  • Proven experience managing and supporting VMware environments.
  • Experience with backup and recovery solutions such as Veeam.
  • Strong expertise in Office 365 administration and Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, including hybrid environments.
  • Familiarity with network protocols, routing, VPNs, and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of IT security practices, including firewall management and endpoint protection.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
