Role Responsibilities

• Preparing and managing annual tax returns for a portfolio of clients
• Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients to resolve queries and ensure compliance
• Advising clients on a range of personal tax matters, including tax forecasting, residence and domicile considerations, capital gains tax, planning, and enquiry work
• Maintaining regular contact with clients, building strong and trusted relationships
• Raising bills and managing your portfolio to ensure work is completed efficiently
• Supporting Managers and Partners on their portfolios and ad hoc projects
• Supervising and training junior staff members, helping them to develop their skills
• Collaborating across departments to deliver comprehensive solutions for clients

Candidate Requirements

• ATT/CTA qualification or be qualified by experience
• Previous experience in a private client/personal tax role, ideally within an accountancy practice
• Strong organisational skills and experience managing a busy client portfolio
• A good working knowledge of tax preparation software and HMRC online services
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and propose solutions
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• A proactive approach with a strong sense of client service
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
