Head of Pensions Administration Systems

This key role will lead the Pensions Administration Systems team and develop an effective strategy to ensure that the systems support the planned Administration growth. Leading on defining and implementing the Admin Systems strategy for Isio.

Reporting into the Chief Technology Officer with a dotted line to the Head of Pensions Administration, this role will have overall responsibility for the Admin Systems team and will work closely with the Administration business as well as stakeholders from across Isio.

This role can be based in any of our Isio city centre locations with a hybrid workstyle.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Create Isio’s Admin Systems strategy with a particular focus on working with the business using modern development techniques and platforms. This strategy will have elements of system, people, control and service and will help to ensure the Admin Systems team consistently deliver value.
  • Lead and Manage the Admin Systems team and be responsible through line managers for their development.
  • Providing technical expertise and design leadership for the delivery of Admin Systems solutions.
  • Ensure work is delivered on time, on budget and to the specification of the requestor.
  • Work with stakeholders from across Isio to ensure Admin Systems delivers solutions which are fit for purpose.
  • Work with the Admin Systems management to ensure work is allocated to the appropriate teams and team members.
  • Work with the CTO to ensure that Admin Systems have the required resources and training to deliver quality solutions.
  • Lead the design and implementation of processes and procedures relating to Admin Systems.
  • Work with the wider Technology team leadership to ensure processes are efficient and effective.
  • Develop & own KPIs for the Admin Systems team and its work.
  • Work within the wider governance framework to ensure a consistent approach and documentation of all work delivery.
  • Lead a culture of continuous improvement within the Admin Systems team to develop and enhance understanding.
  • Ensure processes support Isio’s ISO27001 & ISO22301 certifications and are built with security considerations as a key element.
  • Work with the Head of IT Operations to build an effective infrastructure & deployment processes
  • Work with the Head of Projects to implement an effective and consistent approach to testing including automated testing.
  • Represent Technology on the Administration Leadership Board and ensure assigned actions are completed.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience of managing large, complex application stacks.
  • Experience of developing systems strategies
  • Proven leadership of a team of 20+ technical people
  • Great people management and leadership skills
  • Track record of delivering solutions and projects
  • Expertise in financial services is essential and pension administration systems is desirable
  • Experience of leading project and transformation work
  • Management of key stakeholders at all levels in a typical corporate environment.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent Planning & Organisational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and creative approach to getting work delivered.
  • Willingness to identify and overcome barriers to delivery of work
