Teacher of Fabrication & Welding
- Location: Rolls Royce Learning and Development Centre, with travel to other sites
- Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

- Salary: Non-qualified teacher £26,625; qualified teacher £29,841 to £40,080 per annum
We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of Fabrication & Welding to provide a high-quality teaching and learning experience for Rolls Royce apprentices. This role involves delivering challenging and engaging lessons primarily focused on fabrication and welding, managing a caseload of pipe welder apprentices, and potentially delivering on other sites.
Day-to-day of the role: - Carry out effective day-to-day management of learners’ learning in line with the College’s objectives.
- Inspire learners and colleagues by identifying, interpreting, and applying specific knowledge.
- Raise retention and achievements continually for learners.
- Embrace and integrate Information Learning Technology in teaching.
- Manage learning flexibility across various delivery modes.
- Undertake pastoral roles and support team members in effective curriculum delivery.
- Create and deliver high-quality learning materials and contribute to the development of a unitised curriculum.
- Promote equality of opportunity and recognition of diversity through teaching and learning.
- Continually assess individual learner needs and facilitate learning in both large and small groups.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of learners and apply strategies to facilitate effective learning.
- Work effectively within different learning environments and be familiar with a range of accreditation/specifications.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - High level of interpersonal skills and good time management.
- Proficiency in IT, able to operate necessary software including MS Office.
- Experience in a welding environment, including fabrication.
- Teaching experience and experience working with apprentices.
- Essential Qualifications:
- Certificate in Education/PGCE/Professional Diploma in Teaching.
- Professional Subject Qualification at Level 3 or Advanced craft qualification if in a vocational area.
- Assessor award.
- Level 2 Maths and English.
- Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with automated and mechanical welding processes.
- Degree in the subject taught or HNC/D or willingness to work towards it.
- Level 3 Maths and Level 2 IT qualification.
