We are seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Mathematics Teacher to join one of our SEN schools in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with a range of special educational needs, and a passion for making maths accessible and enjoyable for all learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored mathematics lessons that meet the individual needs of students with SEN.
- Implement effective teaching strategies to support students with a variety of learning difficulties, including dyscalculia, autism spectrum disorders, and other learning disabilities.
- Assess, monitor, and report on the progress and attainment of students, adapting teaching methods as necessary to ensure success.
- Work closely with the SENCo, teaching assistants, and other colleagues to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure that all students receive the appropriate support.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes students' confidence and self-esteem.
- Engage with parents and carers to provide updates on student progress and strategies to support learning at home.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
- Previous experience teaching Mathematics to students with special educational needs is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of strategies and interventions for teaching maths to SEN students.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN education.
