Are you a skilled SEN Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting students with ASD and behavioural difficulties? Long Term Futures is delighted to offer an opportunity to join a welcoming primary school in Dulwich, SE19, working across KS2 to provide tailored support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
This role requires someone with prior experience in SEN or specialist primary school settings, who is patient, empathetic, and confident in supporting children with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with ASD and behavioural difficulties, ensuring their engagement with the curriculum
- Implement behaviour management strategies to create a calm and productive learning environment
- Adapt teaching resources and approaches to meet individual learning needs
- Collaborate with teachers and the SENCo to deliver and review personalised learning plans
- Encourage social and emotional development, helping children build resilience and confidence
Who We're Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children with ASD, behavioural challenges, or other SEN, particularly in KS2 or specialist school settings
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to working with children who require additional support
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Confidence in implementing behaviour management techniques and adapting teaching strategies
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all students
