Transport (Traffic) Planner |Near Robertsbridge | Circa £45,000

This well established family business provides haulage services to the construction, landscaping and agricultural sectors. They are looking for a Transport or Traffic Planner to join the team on a full-time basis.

You’ll report into the Transport Manager in a challenging but rewarding role which will suit an individual with drive, determination, and enthusiasm. You’ll join the busy traffic team ensuring the continued delivery of a timely and accurate service to all customers. Planning and coordinating the day to day running of our bulk tipper haulage fleet vehicles whilst adhering to all Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the production of an optimum Transport plan in a time critical environment, constantly review and maintain in line with operational changes.
• Ensure all jobs are entered on to the Transport Management System correctly, providing accurate routing information to ensure delivery times are met.
• Pursue and generate backloads where required.
• Negotiating with subcontractors.
• Assist in the production of reports for Senior Management to support KPI’s.
• Maximise efficiencies whilst reducing costs.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Transport Planner in a busy haulage environment.
• Confident communicator and good organizer.
• A strong knowledge of the principles of transport operations and planning functions.
• Computer literate.
