Job Title: Assistant Accountant
Salary: £30-33k
Location: Hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 days from home)

Job Summary/Purpose:
Support the Finance Manager with daily finance functions and provide accurate information throughout the monthly finance reporting cycle.
Primary Responsibilities:
Sales Ledger:
- Weekly sales reporting
- Maintenance of the sales ledger
- Reviewing balance reports and completion statements
- Assisting with the sales budget process
- Ad hoc sales reporting
Payroll:
- Processing weekly payroll
- Supporting weekly paid employees and resolving queries
- Assisting with payroll input and reporting
Purchase Ledger:
- Processing supplier invoices
- Resolving invoice discrepancies
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Preparing weekly purchase ledger reports
Monthly Reporting:
- Assisting with monthly reporting
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
- General ledger journal preparation
- Preparing monthly reports
Other Duties:
- Assisting with cash book reporting and bank reconciliations
- Maintaining subcontract ledger and payment runs
- Supporting the annual budget reporting cycle
- Providing holiday cover and completing other finance requests as needed
Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements:
- AAT Qualified or equivalent
- Strong bookkeeping skills
- Experience in a busy finance department
- Experience with financial reports and reconciliation
- Ability to manage multiple ledgers
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under pressure
