About the Role:
Are you a dedicated and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of young learners? Long Term Futures is working with a well-resourced and forward-thinking SEND school in Barnet that caters to both primary and secondary students.
This role is perfect for someone with a background in special educational needs (SEN) and behaviour management, who is patient, calm, and committed to creating positive learning outcomes. You'll be joining a team of supportive professionals in an environment designed to nurture students with complex needs, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of SEN needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt lessons, ensuring all students can engage and progress
- Implement behaviour strategies to promote positive interactions and manage challenges calmly
- Support students with their emotional and social development, fostering confidence and resilience
- Contribute to the preparation of resources and assist in maintaining a structured, safe learning environment
- Encourage active participation in activities, helping students to reach their potential

Who We're Looking For:
- Previous experience working with students with SEN, particularly ASD, ADHD, and SEMH
- A patient, calm, and empathetic approach to managing behaviour and fostering student engagement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- A proactive and hands-on attitude, ready to adapt to the needs of the school and students
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Additional Details:
- Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Paid £90 - £105 per day, term time only
- Based in Barnet, London
- Start date: Immediate or January
