Head of Commercial Property - Retail

The role is to manage a team and responsible for the day-to-day management of the company's property portfolio which has circa 300 sites . The focus is to minimise operational property challenges, controlling costs, and responding to lease extensions and challenges.

Duties & Responsibilities for this Head of Commercial Property - Retail:

1. Provide leadership and development for a team of Property Managers.
2. Prepare property documents for presentation to senior management and Directors.
3. Oversee and manage key lease events, ensuring appropriate allocation and resolution.
4. Handle rent reviews and lease renewals from inception to completion.
5. Promptly resolve disputes between Landlords and Tenants to minimise disruption and costs to the business.
6. Address operational issues in stores quickly and efficiently.
7. Make and implement independent decisions, carefully balancing risks, and benefits in alignment with the company's long-term financial goals.
8. Take full responsibility for the management and maintenance of the property database.

To be successful in this Head of Commercial Property - Retail:

1. Ideally having experience in a senior property or estate management role in acquisition and disposal of commercial or retail properties.
2. Strong lease negotiation skills with a proven ability to deliver favourable commercial outcomes aligned with company objectives.
3. Skilled in managing third-party professional teams and maintaining tenant/landlord relationships.
4. Knowledgeable about legislative changes impacting property management.
5. Analytical and commercially focused with a strong results-driven mindset.
6. Proven leadership, relationship-building, and people management capabilities as you will leading a team.
7. His role is predominately head office based but there is travel to sites and WFH requirements.
8. Proficient in computer applications, including advanced use and manipulation of Excel spreadsheets.
9. Professional qualifications (e.g., MRICS or equivalent) is desirable.
