Company Overview - Foul Pump Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Foul Pump Engineer to join a respected company that delivers comprehensive pump and drainage services across commercial, domestic, and industrial sectors.

The company, accredited by Safe Contractor, specialises in a wide range of projects within its Pumps & Drainage division, including high-pressure water jetting, CCTV inspections, excavation, cold water booster pumps, submersible waste and storm water systems, and heating circulators.

In addition to the Pumps & Drainage division, the company operates several other areas of expertise, including Electrical & Security, HVAC, Cleaning and Garden Maintenance, Automated Gates, and Commercial Heating.

Foul Pump Engineer Role and Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair foul water pumping systems, ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Perform routine inspections of pumping equipment to identify faults or wear and tear
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot faults.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance tasks, including cleaning, servicing, and replacing parts to extend the life of the pumps.
  • Respond promptly to emergency repair requests, ensuring minimal disruption to wastewater services.
  • Work with other teams and contractors to coordinate installation, upgrades, and maintenance of pump systems.
  • Ensure all systems are correctly installed in accordance with the relevant technical specifications and building regulations.
  • Test and calibrate equipment after installation or repair, verifying functionality and performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations regarding the handling and disposal of wastewater and chemicals.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure satisfaction with services provided.
  • Maintain and monitor operational logs for pumping stations and related systems.

Foul Pump Engineer Skills and Experience:

  • Possess a solid technical knowledge and expertise in the relevant systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to foul water systems.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, colleagues, and contractors.
  • Capable of efficiently managing multiple tasks and service requests, prioritising work, and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team, coordinating with other technicians and external contractors as needed.
  • Demonstrate a quick response to emergency situations, performing urgent repairs as part of an on-call or out-of-hours service.
  • Hold a valid confined space certificate.
