SEND Learning Support Assistant

We are recruiting for a SEND Learning Support Assistant for a SEND School in Burnley to work on a long-term basis starting in January 2025 with the possibility of going on to contract with the school.

Your role & responsibilities:

• Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
• Contribute to developing a creative curriculum where creative learning opportunities are available for all pupils
• Support pupils in small groups and on a one-to-one basis whilst responding to their individual needs
• Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/work plans as appropriate

Non-negotiables:

• Must have recent and relevant experience in working with young people within the past two years
• Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
• Experience within the care, childcare or education sector
• Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the classroom teacher and as part of a wider team
