We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced CNC Machine Operator to work for our prestigious client based in Hoddesdon. As a CNC Machine Operator, you must be able to produce a consistent level of quality with a good understanding of housekeeping and understand the importance of good / safe working practices is vital. The ideal candidate will have a positive mindset, can-do attitude, and a desire to work in a team-based environment. Attention to detail and good manual dexterity are a must.

The role is a full-time permanent position working from 7am - 4.30pm (Monday - Friday) offering a competitive salary.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Program, set, and operate CNC machine - including packing the final products ready for shipment.
  • Using AutoCAD/Computer Design Software.
  • Operate CNC machine to tight tolerances.
  • Produce high quality components from drawings.
  • Ensuring all production achieves the highest quality standards in line with the company's quality procedures.
  • Ensuring all necessary documentation and labelling is completed and production records are maintained.
  • Carry out basic maintenance on machines and tools if necessary.
  • Ensuring you always adhere to company procedures and rules and follow both verbal and written instruction.
  • Ensuring all manufacture is completed in a timely fashion within the given timescales to meet the required delivery date
  • Develop and improve manufacturing methods.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Ensuring health and safety standards are always met.
  • Carry out any other duties as requested by the Supervisor across other production areas.

Skills/Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience using CNC machines (any material).
  • Experience with Zund CNC machines (preferred but not essential).
  • Skilled in AutoCad or 2D/3D computer design packages.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Comfortable working with measurements.
  • Experience using tools/power tools.
  • A forklift license would be an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to use initiative.
  • Lean manufacturing concepts and experience
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook.
