Financial Accountant

GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with one of the UK’s leading, independent family businesses, located in Tewkesbury. We are supporting their recruitment for a Financial Accountant to join their team on a full-time, permanent, contract.

This position is working Monday - Friday offering a salary up to £42,000 pending experience, plus excellent company benefits.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful Financial Accountant will manage 2 Assistant Accountants & 1 Purchase Ledger Administrator, playing a key role in various financial functions.

To be considered for this position, candidates must be CIMA/ACCA qualified with 3+ years of post-qualification experience. You will also demonstrate strong management accounts, treasury, and ledger expertise.

Financial Accountant main duties:

• Fixed asset accounting, month-end journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Preparation of accruals, national statistics forms, and annual reports like Gender Pay
• Overseeing year-end accounts, stock take, and audit queries
• Data analysis, report generation, and managing the accounts team

Financial Accountant required skills and experience:

• CIMA/ACCA qualifications and 3+ years of post-qualification experience.
• Experience in management accounts, treasury, and ledger expertise.
• Attention to detail and strong numerical ability
• Proactive, dynamic, and team-oriented mindset.
• Excellent IT proficiency (Excel & Word; Sage 200 is a bonus).
