To support its continued success, they’re seeking a data-savvy Commercial Finance Manager who can transform complex data into actionable insights and drive strategic decision-making.
The Opportunity
You will be instrumental in providing clarity and insight through advanced Excel modelling, and dashboard reporting integrating multiple data sources into meaningful information. This role requires exceptional technical skills and the ability to partner with key business functions such as Sales and Marketing, ensuring financial performance and strategic alignment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Excel Modelling & Strategic Analysis
o Design, build, and maintain advanced Excel models to support:
- Forecasting and budgeting.
- Trade spending and rebate scenario planning.
- Profitability and COGS analysis.
o Translate raw data into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
2. Dashboard Design & Ownership
o Develop and own the creation of user-friendly dashboards that consolidate data from multiple sources, providing insights on:
- Actual vs. Budget/Forecast Performance.
- Channel and Brand Analysis.
- Sales and Marketing KPIs.
o Ensure dashboards are dynamic, accessible, and aligned with business needs.
3. Data Integration & Management
o Work with multiple data sources (e.g., Brew, Shopify) to align and ensure data consistency and integrity.
o Simplify complex datasets, enabling efficient analysis and reporting.
4. Sales & Marketing Business Partnering
o Partner with the Sales team to analyse rebates, retro reporting, and trade spend ROI.
o Collaborate with the Marketing team to assess advertising spend, promotional activities, and agency contributions.
o Provide actionable insights into POS materials and campaign effectiveness.
5. Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) Analysis
o Deepen understanding of COGS and its impact on profitability.
o Provide regular analysis and recommendations to improve gross margins.
6. Strategic Support
o Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, offering insights that guide key commercial and operational decisions.
o Present complex data and financial information in a clear, concise manner for non-finance stakeholders.
Essential Skills & Experience
• Advanced Excel modelling skills are critical, with proven experience in designing, maintaining, and scaling complex models.
• Expertise in dashboard reporting, including tools such as Power BI or Tableau, with the ability to synthesize data from multiple sources into intuitive reporting solutions.
• Ideally a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 2+ years PQE
• Strong understanding of big data and proficiency in aligning systems like Brew and Shopify.
• Previous experience with rebate and retro reporting, trade spend analysis
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail, with a focus on actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Sales and Marketing teams.
