Learning Support Assistant to include Personal and Medical Care Support

• Learning Support Assistant (cover needed until July 2025, term time only)
• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday - 8.30am - 2.30pm, Thursday - 8.30am - 1.30pm

Academics are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Learning Support Assistant who can work alongside non-verbal complex needs students aged 14-25 years on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis. The role can include personal care. The role will entail supporting student's education, care and medical needs. You must have a minimum of 2 years education work experience in the UK. The college is based in central Birmingham and it is for an immediate start.

Essential/Desirable:

• NNEB/ NVQ 3 /BTEC or other relevant Level 3 childcare qualification essential (or equivalent)
• GCSE Maths & English Pass or Reading & Writing Skills and Numeracy Skills NVQ Level 2 essential
• Ability to work positively with parents, staff and other professionals to improve the support for students essential
• SEN experience and positive behaviour management expertise desirable
• Recent experience of working with children in a learning environment desirable
• Medical care experience desirable
• Basic knowledge of First Aid desirable

**£80-£90 per day, PAYE, term time only**

Academics requires all candidates to have a fully enhanced DBS check, minimum of two references plus a face to face interview.
