Position: PRU Primary School Teacher

Start Date: Immediate

Hours: 08:30 - 16:00

Contract: Full-time

Salary: £95-£105 per day

We are looking for an excellent PRU(Pupil Referral Unit)Teaching Assistant to join one of our most reputable schools in South East London. As a PRU Teaching Assistant you will be providing a fostering and positive approach to teaching as well as managing behaviour and adhering to safeguarding principles. For this role you will be supporting a year 4 classroom, students may display quite challenging behaviour.

The school has an ethos to promote a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Every day is different day and we want yours to be a memorable and exciting experience. The school is located within the London Borough of Lewisham. You will be supporting a boy win The Year 4 class which you will be teaching will have a range of SEND students, some more challenging than others.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Design and deliver personalised lessons that cater to the diverse needs of our Year 4 students with special needs.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with autism, speech and language difficulties, and other complex needs.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and parents to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Demonstrate safeguarding practices to ensure that highest level of pupil welfare is maintained
  • Regularly assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Champion inclusion and promote a positive classroom atmosphere where every child feels valued.

Requirements:

  • PGCE and QTS/QTLS: Hold a recognized teaching qualification such as a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) and possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
  • Demonstrate proven experience working with students who have severe SEN needs, particularly those with autism and complex needs.
  • Be adaptable and flexible, tailoring teaching methods to suit the individual learning styles of students within the class.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to the holistic development of students, fostering an environment where they can thrive and reach their full potential.
