A specialist school is actively looking for an enthusiastic SEN Teacher to assist with speech, language and communication difficulties as well as, those with complex learning needs. This setting in Dudley, caters for residential and day pupils between the ages of 5 to 19. They are proud to say that they are a total communication environment. Responsibilities of a SEN Teacher:

  • Provide a safe, nurturing classroom and school environment that helps students to develop as learners.
  • Consistently plan, resource and deliver lessons that allow stimulating and enjoyable learning.
  • Supervision of teaching assistants within the classroom.
  • Use regular assessments to monitor progress and set targets and determine appropriate intervention.
  • Manage behaviour, mark work and, talk to parents and carers about their children's progress
  • With specialist teaching services, medical staff, counsellors and psychologists.

Requirements of a SEN Teacher:

  • Must have a QTS.
  • Experience within SEN, especially with speech, language and communication and challenging behaviour.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Adaptable and positive approach.
