Financial Controller. Growth orientated Venture Capital (VC) backed technology client.
Reading, hybrid working.
Reporting to the Finance Director you will lead all day-to-day core financial activity whilst developing best practice financial processes across a rapidly expanding Group. This vital role would suit a candidate who has managed financial operations in a dynamic environment, knows what good financial process looks like, and is excited by the opportunity to lead and build a high-performing team and implement best financial practice in a young growing business.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the financial control function responsible for month-end and annual financial close, statutory reporting and supporting the annual audit.
- Mentor and develop a high performing finance team (5-6 people).
- Ensure all monthly consolidated reporting is delivered to strict deadlines. Work with the Head of FP&A to develop robust, accurate and insightful monthly management reporting.
- Manage the operation and development of NetSuite. Lead the assessment and implementation of other software to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the Finance function.
- Drive financial process improvements, enhancing productivity and accuracy through automation and the implementation of best financial practice.
Your profile:
A strong finance leader (Financial Controller) with a proven track record of supporting the C-suite. You will mentor and develop a high-performing team (5-6), but you must be willing to 'get your hands dirty'. The following attributes are essential:
- Top tier academics. You will be a qualified Chartered Accountant (ideally Audit trained), with at least 5 years of post-qualification financial leadership experience gained in a high growth environment.
- Strong leadership profile and interpersonally strong. Ambitious and able to demonstrate the possession of gravitas and presence, you must be able to 'hold the room'.
- High level of proficiency in ERP systems (ideally NetSuite), a natural aptitude for technology and its application.
- Demonstrable strong critical thinking, influencing skills and judgement to support strategic decision making.
- A desire to learn and grow, bringing new insights to the team and the wider organisation.
Hybrid working: 1-2 days per week in Reading office.
