Salary £50,000 to £60,000 per annum, FTE
FTE 37 hours per week Full-time/ Flexible working discussion welcomed
Location Hybrid working between client offices and work from home. (The ability to travel to clients is required)
Reporting to Chief Executive Officer Responsible for Internal Scrutiny Audit Officer Core

Purpose

  • To lead and deliver the internal scrutiny function, ensuring commercial viability and delivering high quality audits for our clients.
  • To ensure that the role's responsibility is carried out in a way that reflects the vision and values of the client.
  • Observing company policy, practice, and procedures.


Role-specific responsibilities:

Audit Delivery
  • Plan, execute, and report on internal audits across schools and MATs, ensuring compliance with ESFA and DfE guidelines.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to clients to support their improvement and compliance.
  • Maintain high professional standards in all audit activities, ensuring reports are clear, concise, and impactful.
Commercial and Strategic Contribution
  • Identify opportunities to expand internal audit and other services to new and existing clients.
  • Contribute to the development of commercial strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to position the internal audit service as a key offering in the education sector.
  • Support client retention by building trusted relationships and demonstrating the values
  • Ensure the budgets are met for profitability.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction levels meet or exceed targets.
Team Leadership and Development
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering their professional development.
  • Lead by example in the delivery of audits, ensuring consistent adherence to company standards.
  • Develop and implement tools, templates, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality across audit processes.
