Location: Staplehurst, Kent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Hours: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role:

A well-established and expanding manufacturing company is seeking a Laser Operator to join their production team. Operating from a state-of-the-art facility in Staplehurst, Kent, the business is experiencing significant growth, with new investments enhancing their production capacity and capabilities.

As a Laser Operator, you will play a vital role in the production process, operating advanced laser cutting machinery and collaborating closely with the design team to ensure components meet precise specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate fibre laser cutting machines and other CNC equipment to produce high-quality components.
  • Work from engineering drawings to produce various items, from small, intricate batches to large panels.
  • Collaborate with the design department to optimise material usage and cutting layouts.
  • Ensure production deadlines are met while maintaining high standards of quality.

Essential Skills:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a machining environment.
  • Hands-on experience with laser cutting machinery, such as Bystronics or LVD.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings accurately.
  • Team-oriented approach with a focus on meeting deadlines.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with ISO9001 quality systems.
  • Proficient IT skills and experience with ERP systems.
  • Understanding of Lean/5S principles.
  • Organised and detail-oriented, with a proactive work ethic.
