Management Accountant

In this pivotal position, you will report directly to the Managing Director and oversee all aspects of the company’s financial operations. You will also manage and mentor an Accounts Assistant, ensuring smooth day-to-day accounting processes and compliance with financial regulations.

• Oversee bookkeeping and accounting functions.
• Produce detailed monthly management accounts.
• Prepare year-end files for external auditors and assist with audit requirements.
• Handle VAT returns and environmental reporting.
• Prepare monthly payroll data and maintain the fixed asset register.
• Manage prepayments, accruals, ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure sales and purchase ledger processes run efficiently.
• Develop and enforce internal financial controls and procedures.

• Fully qualified accountant with at least 5 years of senior-level experience.
• Strong background in retail, stock, or similar trading environments.
• Proficient in SAGE Microsoft Office applications.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and adaptable.
• A proactive team player who can also work independently.
