Interim Project Accountant

Are you a skilled Project Accountant with expertise in Italian VAT laws, cross-border financial integration, and experience in a product-based industry? Our client, a leading manufacturing and wholesale business, is seeking an Interim Project Accountant to play a pivotal role in integrating their newly merged Italian entity into their financial operations. The role will be a 5 month project likely to fall out of scope.

This project-based role requires a combination of technical accounting expertise and effective cross-functional collaboration. You will work with finance, IT teams, and the Italian entity to align financial processes and systems, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with Italian VAT laws and local financial regulations for the Italian entity.
• Collaborate with the IT team to integrate and test sales codes into the accounting system to support accurate month-end processes.
• Assist in reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and streamlining month-end activities for the Italian entity.
• Support the financial alignment of cross-border operations to meet company standards.
• Provide guidance on best practices for integrating financial processes and systems across jurisdictions.

• Qualifications: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience: Strong background in project accounting, ideally within a product-based industry, with exposure to cross-border financial integrations.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency in ERP systems, analytical expertise, and strong communication skills.
• Language: Proficiency in Italian is highly desirable.
• Attributes: Flexible and proactive problem-solver with the ability to travel to Italy as needed.
