IT Project Engineer

IT Project engineer required specialising in delivering tailored solutions for SMEs across Southern England. My clients offerings include hosted desktops, email solutions, IT support, connectivity, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.

Due to continued expansion, they are looking for a proactive and skilled Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects and cutting-edge technologies, contributing to the growth of our project team.

About the Role:
As a Project Engineer, you’ll be responsible for delivering dynamic, single-day IT projects and providing advanced support for escalated technical issues. Working both independently and collaboratively with our senior project team and support desk, you’ll handle tasks such as network hardware installations, configuring Microsoft 365 solutions, overseeing data migrations, and resolving service requests.

Additionally, you’ll maintain Microsoft Server Architecture and support cloud and on-premises infrastructure, including Microsoft 365, storage, networking, and computing devices. This role requires managing uptime, capacity, and rapid deployment using agile methodologies.

This is a pivotal position for an experienced professional with 3+ years in a technical project-driven environment, ideally within an MSP.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver single-day IT projects while providing escalation support for the support desk.
• Manage project lifecycles, ensuring timely completion and exceptional customer experiences.
• Configure and install network hardware, cabling, and new user setups.
• Implement Microsoft 365 solutions and handle data migrations.
• Maintain and support cloud and on-premises services, including storage, networking, and core infrastructure.
• Visit client sites as required for installations, issue resolution, and service-level fulfillment.
• Update support cases, project information, and customer documentation promptly.
• Provide advanced support in networking, infrastructure, and Wi-Fi systems.
• Assist with administrative duties as needed.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• In-depth understanding of networking fundamentals, including protocols, routing, subnets, and VLANs.
• Technical expertise in Microsoft technologies, such as Windows 10, Intune MDM, Active Directory, Azure, Security, and MS365.
• Experience with solution design and implementation, including high-level and low-level designs
