What is expected of you?

As Room Leader, you will oversee the daily operations of your assigned room, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and high-quality environment for children and their families.

  • Activity Planning - Lead the planning and execution of age-appropriate activities aligned with the early year’s curriculum.
  • Team Leadership - Manage and mentor your team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Child Development - Act as a Key Person for children in your room, overseeing their holistic development and building strong relationships with families.
  • Daily Operations - Coordinate resources, meal/snack times, and room activities to maintain a well-organized and welcoming environment.
  • Safeguarding and Wellbeing - Ensure the welfare, safety, and inclusivity of all children, promoting positive behaviours and identifying additional needs.
  • Compliance - Maintain ratios, oversee room hygiene, administer first aid (if qualified), and adhere to health and safety regulations.

What is this employer looking for?

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic childcare professional with strong leadership skills, organizational abilities, and a commitment to early childhood education.

  • An approved Level 3 qualification or above in early years education.
  • At least two years of experience in an early years setting, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to motivate and manage a team to deliver high-quality care and education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and team members.
  • Skilled at coordinating room operations, managing resources, and delivering structured activities.
  • Proficient in observing and tracking children’s development and reporting progress to families and senior staff.
