Location: Ashford

As specialists in the Mechanical Design arena, we are seeking a specialist Mechanical Design Engineer, working with advanced heavy machinery for bespoke manufacturing projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your technical expertise, collaborate with global clients, and contribute to the development and commissioning of cutting-edge equipment. This role focuses on working with unique, custom-built production equipment designed for one-off manufacture.

Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:30 and Friday 08:00 - 13:00

25 days holiday plus 8 days and pension

As Mechanical Design Engineer - you'll possess the following skills and behaviours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop heavy machinery and process plants tailored to customer requirements.
• Provide technical support and resolve issues
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for a global customer base.
• Communicate effectively with clients through email, telephone, and detailed reports.

What We're Looking For:

• A relevant degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar 3D design software.
• Ability to produce drawings to BS8888 standards.
• A solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• A willingness to travel to customer locations as required.

Desirable Skills:

• Practical experience in inspection and quality control procedures.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly related to metalwork.
• Familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics systems.
