SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support Key Stage 1 (KS1) classes, focusing on children with special educational needs. The successful candidates will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality education and care to children aged 5-7 years. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with diverse needs and eager to make a positive impact on their educational journeys.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities: - Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, tailored lessons that meet the needs of children with various special educational needs.
- Provide one-on-one support to students, focusing on their individual learning and behavioural needs.
- Work with intervention groups to enhance learning outcomes and address specific educational challenges.
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages all students to participate.
- Support children with their social, emotional, and academic development.
- Assist with classroom management and organisation to ensure a learning environment that is conducive to the needs of SEN children.
- Prepare and organise teaching materials and resources that cater to sensory and learning variations.
- Participate in school events and activities, ensuring accessibility and inclusion for all students.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Previous experience working with young children, preferably those with special educational needs, in a school setting.
- A relevant qualification in childcare, education, or special needs education is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to the dynamic needs of students.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
