Financial Controller

Halliday Marx are working exclusively with a UK Manufacturer - a leader in their field - to hire their new Financial Controller.

Salary: £60,000 to £90,000 (DOE)

The role could be based in Somerset or in the Oldham, Manchester area.

4 days in the office ideally.

Managing a small team of 3, this role is perfectly suited to an FC or Finance Manager with experience of small companies looking for their next challenge and helping this company through their next stage of growth.

The role will modernise the function and give it better analytical output and assist the commercial drive of the operation.

Ideally you'd be in a position to help being the HR lead, advertising positions, interviewing, preparing offer letters & contracts, arranging inductions, deal with any HR correspondence, ensure any disciplinary procedures follow the legislation & any other HR related duties.

Key responsibilities:

Support and develop the small finance team;

Develop and review the financial reporting systems

Full monthly FP&A

Post acquisition integration projects

Produce the monthly management accounts pack with variance analysis

Monitor cash

Oversee AR / AP / control account reconciliations

Take responsibility for balance sheet reporting;

Prepare VAT returns / Prepare monthly payroll - P11d's etc.

Prepare annual financial information to support the year end accounts

Ad hoc finance projects.

The Successful Applicant

As Financial Controller, you will be a qualified accountant who has previously performed at a similar level in an SME.

Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA);

Hands-on financial management experience

Strong Microsoft office and communication skills;
