We are currently recruiting for a Senior Marine and Specie Claims Adjuster on behalf of our client, a very highly regarded and well-known Lloyd’s Syndicate and (re)insurer.

The successful candidate will proactively handle and adjust a portfolio of Marine claims from first notification to final resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively adjusting Marine claims within a set claims authority level.
• Developing a thorough understanding of claims within the Marine portfolio.
• Nurturing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, in particular with Underwriters and Actuaries.
• Instructing and proactively working with Panel Lawyers, Adjusters and experts, ensure the best outcomes whilst controlling costs and reducing claims leakage.
• Acting as a subject matter expert for the portfolio, as well as providing technical advice and support to more junior members of the team.

Key Requirements

• Experience of handling Marine Claims, ideally within the London Market.
• Claims technical expertise, including policy coverage and liability assessment, claims negotiation skills, and claims strategy.
• Ability to manage complex issues and problems, and escalate as needed.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
