Operational Excellence Lead
London - Hybrid

I am currently working with a fast growing Lloyd's syndicate looking to build out there Operational Excellence team. This client is growing exceptionally fast and wants to ensure that as they scale, operations have minimal impact. As a Operational Excellence Manager, you will spearhead strategically important initiatives, driving operational improvements that align with the business's long-term objectives. This is an internal consulting role where you will collaborate with senior leaders across the organisation and influence key decisions that ensure successful change and measurable outcomes. Your work will have high visibility across all areas of the business, providing the opportunity to shape the future of the organisation.

You will oversee the delivery of large-scale initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination, effective information sharing, and the embedding of operational excellence. Your role will be critical in creating new ways of working and establishing processes that drive growth and efficiency. You will also contribute to the development of the company's operational culture, ensuring continuous improvement is a key focus.

Responsibilities:

* Lead the delivery of initiatives aligned with the organisation's strategic objectives.
* Coordinate and collaborate with senior stakeholders across multiple departments, including IT, Finance, Underwriting, HR, and Operations.
* Define the scope and approach of each initiative, ensuring operational excellence is at the heart of every project.
* Build and mobilise cross-functional teams to plan and deliver complex initiatives.
* Work closely with business stakeholders to agree on objectives and measure success.
* Facilitate workshops to document current-state processes, identify pain points, and develop innovative solutions.
* Design and implement future operating models and processes, creating compelling business cases and resolving stakeholder conflicts.
* Drive the seamless embedding of new processes and ways of working, ensuring teams are empowered for long-term success.
* Own the timeline and ensure initiatives stay on track, addressing obstacles as they arise.
* Hold key stakeholders accountable, tracking progress and ensuring clear communication across teams.
* Coach and guide teams through change, ensuring understanding and effective knowledge transfer.
* Provide regular updates on the progress of initiatives, delivering comprehensive reporting to senior leadership.

Essential:

* Proven track record of delivering successful projects in fast-paced environments with high levels of ambiguity.
* Experience with structured problem-solving techniques, target operating models, process mapping, design thinking, and workflow analysis.
* Strong curiosity and a willingness to challenge the status quo.
* Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint (for presentation and idea development), Microsoft Excel (for analytical problem-solving), and whiteboarding tools.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complex processes and develop effective solutions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams at all levels of seniority.
* Proven ability to deliver initiatives from concept to implementation and measurable benefit realisation.
* A track record of driving process improvements and operational efficiency.
* Commercial awareness to ensure cost-effective solutions are developed, with limited tech input.

Desirable:

* Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
* Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
* Experience with Agile frameworks.
