A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Good-rated primary school in Barking and Dagenham, working within their Autism Resource Provision (ARP).
Key Responsibilities: - Provide individualized support to children with autism in the ARP and, where appropriate, within mainstream classrooms.
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies tailored to each child's needs.
- Support students' academic progress and social development using creative and structured methods.
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff to adapt lessons and activities for all learners.
- Foster an inclusive, nurturing, and supportive environment for students.
- Monitor and report on student progress to inform ongoing support strategies.
What We're Looking For: - Previous experience working with children with autism or other special educational needs, ideally in a school setting.
- A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to helping children overcome challenges.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Knowledge of autism-specific strategies and techniques is highly desirable.
- Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are beneficial but not essential.
