Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist

Grade: Band 6

Department: Children’s Speech and Language Therapy

Location: Durham, Darlington, Hartlepool, Stockton

Trust: North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Pay rate: £20.15

They are seeking to hear from HCPC registered therapists from a range of clinical areas including - stammering, autism, DLD, Speech, neuro-disability and Dysphagia. Candidates can have experience in more generalist or specialist roles.

The ideal candidate/s will support the clinical work of the childrens team by completing initial assessments, reviews, delivering interventions, writing advice for EHCP’s and responding to telephone calls/tasks etc. They have sessions available in County Durham, Darlington, Hartlepool or Stockton. Main duties of the job

  • Manage a caseload of children with complex communication needs, conducting assessments, developing, and implementing care plans.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to less experienced colleagues and supervise assistant practitioners as required.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, families, and healthcare providers to ensure a holistic approach to treatment.
  • Contribute to service development, clinical governance, and participate in ongoing research and audit projects.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

  • Current relevant professional registration (HCPC Registration)
  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Proven experience in clinical settings, with a strong focus on children’s speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Valid UK drivers licence and access to a car
